Social Studies-This week we will continue to learn about the Constitution. We will discuss the responsibilities of the three branches of government and how checks and balances keeps them from having "too" much power. We will also do an activity dealing with the Bill of Rights.
Reading-We will be talking about the differences between poetry, prose and drama. We will begin our poetry unit on Wednesday, dealing with how poems are structured and begin reading a narrative written as a poem, called "Love that Dog". Math-We will continue multiplication, more specifically how the area model shows us the Distributive Property. We will also multiply larger numbers up to 1,000 using the area model/partial products ("rectangle method"). Writing-Students will finish their final copy of their narrative writing today. We will learn about how to build suspense to work on our next narrative which we will try and read on Halloween.
