Social Studies-We will cover the first ten amendments of the Bill of Rights. Students will create a poster that explains and illustrates an example of one of the Bill of Rights. Reading-Continue poetry and introduce Drama. Students will begin writing a script for their Gobble Up Literacy skit next week. Math-We will begin multiplying using the standard algorithm (old school way). Students will not be forced to do it, especially since they are doing so well using the area model (rectangle method). But they will be exposed this week. You can work with them on it, but I won't make them do it on the quiz on Friday. Writing-We will review past and present tense verbs today, but this week they will work on writing scripts for their skits next week. I know it may be hard for some of you, but if you can take your child with you to vote, I told them I'd give them a reward for seeing the voting process. It's perfect timing as we are discussing and learning how our government works so it would be great for them to see the process.
